Gschwend is picturesquely situated on a hill between the rivers Kocher and Lein. The landscape here is characterised by rolling hills, meadows and forests - perfect for outdoor activities of all kinds. In summer you can go hiking or cycling, while in winter the nearby ski resorts beckon.

But Gschwend also has a lot to offer culturally. Visit the local history museum "Altes Schulhaus" or tour the church of St. Cyriakus with its impressive 13th century tower.

Another highlight are the numerous culinary specialities of the region: Be sure to try the Swabian dish Maultaschen or enjoy a freshly tapped beer in one of the cosy inns.

For rainy days, we recommend a trip to neighbouring Schwäbisch Hall with its museums and historic buildings or a trip to the Limes-Therme Aalen to relax in warm water.

However, Gschwend is particularly beautiful whenever one of the many events takes place: The traditional shooting festival in July attracts many visitors every year, as does the wine festival in September or the Advent market in December.

    Super Tour, ohne jegliche Abstriche! (Wir sind allerdings in umgekehrter Richtung gefahren, um den längeren Anstieg von Täferrot auf der Landstraße zu vermeiden). Tipp: Abstecher zum Ostkastell und/oder zum Biergarten in Welzheim Achtung: ziemlich gefährliche, extrem steile, holprige Abfahrt vom Hagbergturm nach Horlachen (Schritttempo fahren oder absteigen)!

    Mit Start ab Bhf. stramme 25 km. Gut angelegte Runde; längere Asphaltpassagen wohl unvermeidlich. Sehr gut beschildert. Allerdings: nach Reutfeld im Wald die Wegweisung nach rechts führt ins Nichts bzw. in hüfthohe Brennessel- und mannshohe Dornenstauden. Ansonsten passt alles bei der Wegführung. Feine Einkehr im "Kocherbähnle" - ein Muss.

    eine tolle, abwechslungsreiche Tour. zu den Bärenlöcher hinunter vor allem bei feuchten Wetter schön anspruchsvoll. Tatsächlich fand ich die Teufelsküche,zu der man relativ unproblematisch hinkommt, lohnender. Insgesamt sollte man auf der Tour über eine gewisse Trittsicherheit verfügen und Schuhe mit gutem Profil sind ein Muss. Das Stück beim Bauernhof haben wir umgangen, da ich grundsätzlich nicht einfach über anderleuts Grundstücke laufe. Leider waren die Forstleute auch fleißig und wir sind ein paarmal über Bäume geklettert und haben den Weg via GPS wieder suchen müssen, wohlgemerkt bei einem offiziellen Wanderweg. Trotz dieser Widrigkeiten haben wir diese abwechslungsreiche Wanderung sehr genossen!

    Eine schöne Wanderung. Es geht gleich zu Anfang steil und lang auf Naturpfaden den Berg hinab ( erster Gedanke, dass muss man später wieder hoch). Auch sehr schön ist der Teil am Mühlengraben zwischen Menzlesmühle und Sägemühle (Der "Einstieg" zum Weg ist leicht zu übersehen. Mühlengraben sollte immer linke Hand sein). Der spätere Finale Aufstieg ist zum Glück doch nicht so anstrengend wie am Anfang befürchtet. Bei heißen Tagen kann es dort aber unangenehm werden. Meinen Hund, meiner Frau und mir hat die Tour gefallen

    Wir sind die Tour am Mühentag mit einem Abstecher zur Brandhofer Öl- und Sägemühle gelaufen. Eine schöne Abwechslung an einsamen Feld- und Forstwegen sowie Pfaden! Die Bärenlöcher sind nicht ausgeschildert und es führt auch kein Pfad dort hinein. Ein echter Geheimtipp also, wobei man unberührtere Natur vielleicht auch mal ungestört sich selbst überlassen sollte...nächstes Mal würde ich mit der auch sehr sehenswerten, aber gut begehbaren Teufelsküche gegnügen!

    Super Tour, auch mit wanderfreudigen Kindern gut machbar, allerdings nicht kinderwagentauglich. Brunnen- und Hägelesklinge sind aus meiner Sicht die absoluten Highlights der Tour. Ich empfehle festes Schuhwerk, da es mitunter etwas feucht und rutschig sein kann. Am Wanderparkplatz Täle als Start- und Endpunkt wartet noch ein schöner Spiel-/Grillplatz zum Abschluss. Leider keine Einkehrmöglichkeit auf dem Weg, deshalb unbedingt Rucksackvesper einpacken. Wer am Wanderparkplatz Täle keinen Parkplatz bekommt, der kann es ein paar hundert Meter weiter auf einem weiteren Wanderparkplatz an der Straße Richtung Gschwend versuchen. Alternativ bietet sich auch der Parkplatz beim Mönchhof an.

    Schöne, abwechslungsreiche und gemütliche Wanderung - einen Stern Abzug gibt's, da die Wegeführung auf der Outdooractive-Karte hinter der Menzlesmühle nicht ganz korrekt war (Stand 10/2023). Vielleicht könnte der Ersteller das noch korrigieren ;-) Update: Stimmt doch! mein Fehler :) :)

    Nette familiengeeignete Rundtour auf meist breiten Wegen. Rund um den WeiteWeg schöne gepflegte Pfade. Als Höhepunkte möchte ich noch die vier Wasserfälle in der Wombachschlucht hervorheben, die aber nicht einfach zu erreichen sind. Nach der Teufelskanzel herrliche Aussicht- und Rastmöglichkeit bei den "Hohen Tannen"!
