Großbottwar ist eine historische Kleinstadt im Landkreis Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, etwa 26 km nordnordöstlich von Stuttgart und 16 km südsüdöstlich von Heilbronn gelegen. Die Stadt liegt im Bottwartal und ist von den Naturräumen Schwäbisch-Fränkische Waldberge und Neckarbecken umgeben. Sie liegt außerdem an der Württemberger Weinstraße und beheimatet viele historische Sehenswürdigkeiten.
Im historischen Ortskern finden sich Fachwerkhäuser aus dem 15. bis 17. Jahrhundert, darunter das historische Rathaus von 1556/57 und der Marktbrunnen mit einer Brunnenfigur von 1930. Weitere historische Gebäude sind die Stadtschänke von 1434, das Schiefe Haus von 1542 und das Gasthaus Rose.
Die evangelische Martinskirche, erstmals 1279 erwähnt, präsentiert sich heute in ihrer Form von Vergrößerungen und Umbauten aus den Jahren 1495 und 1791. Sie beherbergt eine bedeutende Orgel, die im Jahr 1791 von Johannes Weinmar aus Bondorf erbaut wurde.
Außerhalb der Stadt erhebt sich der Wunnenstein, mit 394 Metern der höchste Punkt des Gemeindegebiets und mit Resten der Burg Wunnenstein sowie einem Aussichtsturm und einem Ausflugslokal versehen.
Insgesamt ist Großbottwar für seinen gut erhalten Ortskern mit historischen Gebäuden und die reizvolle Landschaft des Bottwartals bekannt und ein Anziehungspunkt für Besucher entlang der Württemberger Weinstraße.
