Maps and trails
Geographically, Griebelschied lies on the edge of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park, surrounded by forests and mountains. The location offers a breathtaking backdrop with numerous hiking and cycling trails through the picturesque landscape.

Most relevant for tourism are Dhaun Castle and the historic buildings of the old town of Birkenfeld. Another highlight is the Roscheider Hof open-air museum, which provides an insight into rural life in times gone by.

Cultural highlights are offered in particular during the annual "Birkenstock" music festival or at the regular concerts in the old forester's lodge.

For culinary delights, it is highly recommended to try the regional specialities such as Saumagen or Flammkuchen - a real feast for the palate!

The best outdoor activities can be found here all year round: In summer, hiking tours on the Soonwaldsteig or mountain bike tours through the mountains are tempting, while in winter skiing and cross-country skiing are possible. A boat trip on the nearby Bostalsee is also particularly beautiful.

If it should rain, for example, you can visit the local history museum or relax and have a coffee in one of the cosy cafés.

In Griebelschied, Birkenfeld is at its most beautiful in the spring and summer months, when nature awakens and everything is green and in bloom. However, the landscape offers its very own charm at any time of year.

This Travel Guide shows: Griebelschied, Birkenfeld is a destination with many facets - whether cultural highlights or outdoor activities - there is something for everyone to discover here. A visit is definitely worthwhile!

😉 https://www.komoot.de/tour/388729452?ref=aso
