Maps and trails
Geographically, Gilching is located on the edge of the beautiful Ammersee lake and is surrounded by picturesque hills. The landscape offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling or sailing - especially in spring and summer.

Gilching is also known for its historic architecture as well as cultural highlights such as the Old School House with its impressive exhibition on the history of the town.

Tourists should definitely plan a visit to Andechs Monastery, which is famous for its beer and its magnificent views of the surrounding area. Other sights include Blutenburg Castle and Nymphenburg Park.

If it rains, you can head to the indoor swimming pool or spend a leisurely day in one of the many cafés - for example, with a delicious slice of cake made from locally grown fruit or vegetables.

The culinary delights of this region are also worth a trip: Be sure to try fresh fish dishes from Lake Ammersee as well as local specialities such as "Leberknödel" or "Kaiserschmarrn".

In summary, Gilching is definitely worth a trip! Whether you are looking for cultural highlights or just want to spend time in nature - there is something for everyone here. Wherever you go, you will be amazed by the beauty of this region.
