Geseke is located on the edge of the Teutoburg Forest in the eastern part of the Ruhr region between Paderborn and Lippstadt. The town is known for its historic old town with numerous 17th century half-timbered houses as well as the Marienfeld Monastery, which served as the filming location for the movie "The Name of the Rose".

Tourist attractions also include the town church St. Cyriakus with its impressive 13th century tower and the Liesborn Abbey Museum with its archaeological finds from the region.

For those interested in culture, a visit to the annual art market or a concert in the Kulturschmiede is a must. The traditional Schützenfest also attracts many visitors every year.

Culinary Geseke also has a lot to offer: Be sure to try the local speciality "Pfefferpotthast", a beef and potato stew, or enjoy a fresh beer in one of the cosy breweries.

If you like to be active, you can cycle or hike along a cycle path or hiking trail through the picturesque countryside around Geseke. It is especially beautiful in spring when nature awakens and everything shines in lush green.

Even when the weather is bad, there is plenty to do in Geseke: Visit the indoor swimming pool or take a trip to nearby Paderborn to visit the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum.

In summary, Geseke is a destination that is definitely worth a trip. Here you will find historical sights, cultural highlights as well as culinary delights and outdoor activities for every taste. Discover for yourself where Geseke is at its best!

Schade.
