Ettringen

Ettringen is known for its picturesque location at the foot of the Volcanic Eifel Mountains. The landscape is characterised by green hills and meadows as well as numerous lakes and rivers. The best outdoor activities can be experienced especially well in spring and summer: Hiking on one of the many trails through the countryside or a bicycle tour along the Maare-Mosel cycle path are among the absolute highlights of this region. Water sports such as canoeing or stand-up paddling are also possible here.

If it rains, a visit to the volcano park in Plaidt is a good idea. Here you can experience the history of the Eifel volcanoes up close and even take a look inside a volcano.
