Ellscheid

Tourist attractions include the Manderscheid castle ruins and the Maarmuseum in Daun, which deals with the volcanic activities of the region. There are also cultural highlights in Ellscheid: In summer, there are regular outdoor concerts or you can visit one of the many art exhibitions.

Culinary, the Eifel also has a lot to offer: Be sure to try the famous "Eifeler Döppekooche" or enjoy fresh trout from the nearby waters.

The main outdoor activities are hiking, cycling and water sports such as canoeing on the river Kyll or swimming in the Pulvermaar lake. It is particularly beautiful here in spring, when everything is in bloom and green, but you can also take wonderful walks through the colourful nature in autumn when the leaves are falling.

For rainy days, we recommend a visit to the thermal baths in Bad Bertrich or a trip to the Nürburgring, where there is not only racing but also an adventure museum.

Where is the most beautiful? That probably remains a matter of taste - but we recommend a walk through the idyllic village of Ellscheid itself or a hike to one of the surrounding volcanoes, from where you have a breathtaking view over the landscape.
