Discover the region

Geographically, Eilenburg lies directly at the confluence of the Mulde and Luppa rivers. The town itself is characterised by its picturesque old town, which is dominated by historic buildings. Here you will find charming half-timbered houses next to magnificent baroque buildings - a real eye-catcher!

For visitors interested in culture, there is much to discover in Eilenburg: Hartenfels Castle, for example, was built as early as the 16th century and impresses with its Renaissance architecture and extensive art collection. The town history museum is also worth a visit: here you can learn all about the history of the town from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Those who like to be active will also get their money's worth: In the summer months, canoe tours on the Mulde River are a great option, and cycling tours along the river are also very popular. In winter you can go ice skating on the frozen lake in front of Hartenfels Castle.

But Eilenburg also has a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights: Why not try the regionally famous "Eilenburger Bierstangen" or enjoy hearty specialities such as Sauerbraten or Leipziger Allerlei in one of the cosy inns.

And if it rains? Then a visit to the "AquaWorld" leisure pool is recommended - here you can splash around and relax whatever the weather.

Eilenburg is worth a visit at any time of year. But it is especially beautiful when nature awakens and everything is green and in bloom. In spring, a walk through the castle park or along the banks of the Mulden River is therefore worthwhile.

Overall, it can be said: Eilenburg has something to offer for everyone! Whether you are culturally interested, active in sports or simply looking for relaxation - this destination will not disappoint you. A travel guide for all those who are looking for something special!
