Geographically, Ehrenkirchen is located between Freiburg and Basel at the foot of the Black Forest. The landscape is characterised by idyllic vineyards and rolling hills that invite you to go hiking. The region also offers numerous sights such as castle ruins, historic towns as well as castles and museums.

One of the tourist attractions is Bürgeln Castle from the 12th century with its impressive architecture as well as the associated museum. Another highlight is the Mundenhof Culture & Nature Trail with its many animals such as zebras or llamas.

Cultural highlights include the annual wine festival in September or the traditional Christmas market in December on Ehrenkirchen's market square. Concerts in Bürgeln Castle Park also attract many visitors every year.

Culinary specialities range from regional specialities such as Black Forest ham to international dishes in various local restaurants. The local wines from the surrounding vineyards are also a special recommendation - be sure to try a Riesling or Spätburgunder!

For outdoor activities, there are opportunities for hiking, cycling or Nordic walking all year round. In summer, various bathing lakes such as the Opfinger See or the Silbersee attract visitors. In the winter months, you can enjoy winter sports in the nearby ski resorts.

Even in rainy weather, there is plenty to discover - visit the Museum of City History in Freiburg, for example, or relax in the Vita Classica thermal baths in Bad Krozingen.

Ehrenkirchen is definitely at its most beautiful in spring and autumn, when the landscape is characterised by bright colours and pleasant temperatures.

In summary, Ehrenkirchen is definitely worth a trip! With this travel guide, you have all the important information for an unforgettable stay at your fingertips.
