    Wir starten am Ortsbrunnen von Kehrig, und verbinden die beiden Schieferrouten miteinander. Wir kommen so auf eine Länge von ca. 12,5 km, und die sind sehr abwechlsungsreich. Am Anfang und am Ende wandert man auf Asphalt, dazwischen auf Forst- und Waldwegen, aber auch auf sehr schönen Pfadabschnitten an der Elz entlang. Eine sehr schöne Rast an der Klosterruine Mädburg machen wir - ein beeindruckender Ort! Hier und da wurden die Holzwegweiser erneuert, aber an manchen Wegegabelungen könnten sie sichtbarer sein. Deshalb die Empfehlung mit Navi zu wandern. Eine schöne, abwechlsungsreiche Wanderung mit viel Ruhe, Geschichte und Weitblicken.

    Eine schöne Runde. Besonders am Eltzbach ist es schön. Ein bisschen Trittsicherheit sollte man mitbringen. Die Beschilderung ist wirklich dürftig, aber egal. Mit Navi kommt man gut zurecht. Der Boden war bei uns gefroren. Sonst könnte es teilweise etwas schlammig sein.

    Diese Rundtour geht nur mit NAVI oder Kartenmaterial! Bei stahlblauem Himmel und Frosttemperaturen haben wir diesen Weg gemacht. Der Plan: Schieferroute 1 und 2 miteinander kombinieren. Gestartet sind wir am Friedhof in Kehrig, da wir nicht wussten, ob auf dem Parkplatz im Ortskern mit oder ohne Parkscheibe das Parken möglich ist (keine Parkscheibe erforderlich). Vorweg: Die Markierungen sind wirklich dürftig und auch zum Teil mit der hier eingestellten Route NICHT identisch. Gut, dass wir mit NAVI gehen. Eine wirklich wunderschöne Runde ist das! Und ja, man läuft auf den Höhen auf Asphalt, ist aber für uns nicht schlimm, Windräder und viele alte Basalt-Wegekreuze begleiten uns, Fernblicke entschädigen. Bänke gibt es einige, die Highlights sind das Wüstenrather- und das Elzbachtal. Fantastische Pfade wechseln sich mit breiten Forstwegen ab, interessant ist die Düngenheimer Mühle mit Kapelle. Und dann die Klosterruine Mädburg: Ein wunderschön gelegener KRAFT-Ort, der zur Pause und Ruhe einlädt. Bänke mit Tisch und eine wärmende Sonne inklusive. Sonnenstrahlen treffen genau durch die bunten Glasfenster der Dreifaltigkeit-Kapelle auf die Mutter Gottes. Was für ein mystischer Augenblick! Ab da geht es auf einem tollen Pfad an der Elz entlang, unter der A 48 hindurch, bevor es dann wieder auf die Höhe Richtung Kehrig geht. Die letzten Kilometer sind wieder auf Asphalt, genau richtig um auszutrudeln. Fazit: Eine wunder- wunderschöne Strecke, die wir im Frühling unbedingt wiederholen möchten. Eine bessere Markierung und ein korrekter GPX-Track wären unbedingt erforderlich. Viele "WANDERFREUNDE- und INNEN" hinterlassen gedankenlos ihren Müll, egal ob Essensreste, Zigarettenkippen, Tücher für das Geschäftle, Hundekot, etc. ... Sorry, das geht gar nicht! Bitte alles wieder schön mit nach Hause nehmen! Nur so hat die Natur eine Chance!!!

    Eine sehr schöne Wanderung. Leider hat sie einen gewaltigen Haken. Das Stück, das ihr nicht gegangen seit, von dem Abzweig zur L52 bis zum Weg an der Lohbrückermühle, ist ein ganz schmaler Pfad, der heute bei Schneeresten kaum zu finden war, und durch viele Bäume zugefallen ist. Wir mußten immer wieder in den Hang, um die gefallenen Bäume zu umgehen. Für meine fast 80 Jahre eine ungeplante Herausforderung. War trotzdem schön.
