Discover the region

Geographically, Drachselsried is located in the district of Regen, Bavaria. The community is surrounded by dense forests and rolling hills, perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling. Particularly impressive is the nearby Bavarian Forest National Park, which extends over 240 square kilometres.

One of the most tourist-relevant sights in Drachselsried is the "Weinfurtner Glass Village", where you can admire handmade glassware or even take part in a demonstration yourself. Also worth a visit are Egg Castle and the St. Laurentius Church with its baroque interior.

Culturally, there is much to discover here: The annual Forest Festival attracts thousands of locals and tourists alike every year. Art lovers should definitely visit the sculpture park, which houses works by internationally renowned artists.

Drachselsried also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine: The regional cuisine is characterised by hearty dishes made from fresh ingredients - potato dumplings with mushroom gravy or roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut are particularly recommended.

For active holidaymakers, there are plenty of opportunities to explore nature. Hiking and cycling are particularly popular in summer, while winter is perfect for skiing or cross-country skiing.

Even when the weather is bad, there is plenty to do in Drachselsried: The "Haus zur Wildnis" offers interactive exhibitions about the Bavarian Forest as well as a large aquarium with native fish species.

It is especially beautiful here in spring, when the landscape shines in lush green and numerous flowers bloom. But also in autumn, the colourful foliage attracts many visitors.

Overall, Drachselsried is definitely worth a trip - whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation. This travel guide will help you get the most out of your stay!
