Dornhan has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. The town was an important trading centre for cloth and leather goods as well as for mining. Today it is known for its idyllic countryside, historic buildings and traditional festivals.

Sights relevant to tourism include Dornhan Castle from the 16th century with its beautiful castle park and St. Martinus Church with its impressive 18th century architecture.

Cultural highlights include the annual Old Town Festival in summer and the Christmas market in winter, where visitors can sample local specialities and enjoy traditional music.

The culinary specialities of Dornhan are mainly hearty dishes such as Maultaschen or Spätzle with sauce but sweet treats such as cherry pie or apple strudel should also definitely be tried!

There are many options for outdoor activities: Hikes through the forest or along the rivers Kinzig or Neckar offer breathtaking views of the surroundings - this is especially beautiful in autumn when everything turns colourful! Cycling is also a great activity here, as is swimming in nearby lakes or streams. In winter, you can go skiing and snowboarding in the surrounding ski areas.

If it rains, there are still plenty of activities to do: the Dornhan town museum shows the history of the town as well as the Black Forest in an impressive way. A visit to the cinema or the local swimming pool is also a good option.

Overall, Dornhan is definitely worth a trip for all those who long for a relaxing time-out surrounded by picturesque nature!
