Among the tourist highlights is the historic townscape with its splendid town houses, churches and squares. An absolute must is a walk through the old town to the Reichsstraßenbrunnen or the Fuggerei, one of the oldest social housing estates in Germany. Mangoldstein Castle and the Käthe Kruse Doll Museum are also worth a visit.

Culturally, Donauwörth also has a lot to offer: The Riedlinger Museum shows history up close, while theatre performances take place in the Zeughaus. Those who like it more musical should not miss the annual concerts of the chamber orchestra.

For gourmets, there are numerous culinary specialities to discover - ranging from regional cuisine to internationally inspired dishes. Particularly recommended are hearty pork knuckles or delicious dumpling dishes.

But outdoor lovers will also get their money's worth here: whether hiking along the Lech-Danube Trail or cycling on the famous Danube Cycle Path - there is something for everyone! In summer, the open-air swimming pool "Sonnenschwimmbad" directly on the Wörnitz river offers refreshing bathing fun.

And what to do in bad weather? There are options here too: A visit to the Donauwörth Museum or the town library is always worthwhile. Or how about a round of bowling at the "Strike In"?

No matter what time of year or where - Donauwörth is definitely worth a visit! Let our Travel Guide inspire you and discover the beauty of this town for yourself.

Strecke fast ohne Schatten.

Sehr empfehlenswerte Tour!
