Discover the region

Geographically, Dolgesheim is situated between the rivers Rhine and Nahe - a picturesque location in the middle of nature. The surrounding area offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking or cycling. Hikes through the vineyards are particularly recommended, where you can not only enjoy the breathtaking scenery, but also gain an insight into local wine production.

For culture lovers, there is also plenty to discover: Near Dolgesheim is the Eberbach Monastery, which became famous as the location for the film "The Name of the Rose". Johannisberg Castle with its impressive architecture and associated winery is definitely worth a visit as well.

Culinary-wise, this region has a lot to offer - especially good wine, of course! But regional specialities such as Spundekäs (a type of cream cheese dip) or Handkäs mit Musik (a spicy cheese with onions) should definitely be tried.

If it ever rains, a trip to nearby Mainz is worthwhile. Here you can visit many museums and galleries as well as historic buildings such as the cathedral or the Gutenberg Museum.

But where is the best place to relax? That's for you to find out - whether it's a walk through the vineyards, a cosy wine tasting or simply relaxing in nature.

All in all, Dolgesheim is definitely worth a visit and a perfect destination for anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This guide is designed to help you get the most out of your stay. Have fun!
