Geographically, Dohna lies at the foot of the Ore Mountains and borders the Elbe. The town itself is surrounded by hills and thus offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

One highlight of the region is undoubtedly the numerous castles and palaces, such as Weesenstein Castle or Stolpen Castle, which are located in the immediate vicinity. Hiking enthusiasts also get their money's worth here: the Malerweg trail leads through this area and offers spectacular views of the Saxon Switzerland National Park.

Culture enthusiasts can look forward to visits to museums such as the local history museum or the museum on the history of porcelain. Another event highlight is the annual Old Town Festival with many culinary offerings and music acts from the region.

Speaking of culinary delights: Dohna has many restaurants serving regional specialities - be sure to try the Saxon curd cake! For all outdoor fans, there are also activities such as cycling along the Elbe cycle path or climbing in the nearby climbing forest.

If the weather doesn't cooperate, there are still plenty of options: Visit the salt cave, for example, or relax in one of the wellness hotels.

The most beautiful spot in Dohna is undoubtedly Weesenstein Castle Park with its romantic flair and many walking paths. Here you can relax perfectly and enjoy nature.

In total, Dohna offers a mixture of culture, nature and relaxation - a truly versatile destination! As a travel guide, we recommend a stay in spring or autumn, when the weather is mild and the landscape unfolds its full colourful splendour. We look forward to welcoming you here soon!
