Discover the region

Geographically, Dierhagen is located in the north-east of Germany and is surrounded by a beautiful coastline with a fine sandy beach. The region is known for its picturesque landscape and clean water, as well as for the many recreational opportunities it offers.

Sights relevant to tourism include the Ribnitzer Großes Moor nature reserve and the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park. Here, visitors can observe rare animal species such as cranes or white-tailed eagles or simply hike through untouched nature.

Cultural highlights are also numerous in Dierhagen: The Fischland-Darß-Zingst Museum invites you to learn more about the history and traditions of this area. There are also regular art exhibitions and concerts in the area.

For culinary specialities, be sure to visit one of the local restaurants and look forward to fresh fish - a speciality of the place! Other regional products such as smoked meat or homemade jams are also worth a try.

The main outdoor activities take place mainly on the beach: In summer, you can go swimming or play beach volleyball here; surfing and sailing are also very popular. But Dierhagen also has its charm in winter: then you can go for long walks on the beach or warm up in one of the many cosy cafés.

When it rains, there is still plenty to do: Visit the Darß Museum in Prerow, for example, or relax in the wellness area of a hotel. A trip to Rostock is also recommended - here you will find numerous museums and galleries as well as a large shopping centre.

Where is it most beautiful in Dierhagen? That depends entirely on your interests! If you are looking for peace and quiet, you should choose a stretch of beach that is a little further away from the centre. If you prefer action, you should look at the busier beaches. But no matter where you are - you will certainly not miss the beauty of this region!

Summarising: Dierhagen is definitely worth a trip! With this travel guide, you have all the important information at hand and can make the most of your time here.
