Delve

Delve is located about 20 kilometres northwest of Heide in the Dithmarschen region. The municipality stretches along the Eider-Treene-Sorge river and thus offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as canoeing or fishing. Cycling is also very popular here, as there are many well-developed cycle paths.

One highlight of Delve are the historic windmills - the Katharina mill with its lovingly restored interior is particularly worth seeing. Another landmark of the village is the 13th-century St. Laurentius Church, which features impressive Gothic architecture.

Culturally, Delve has a lot to offer: The annual village festival attracts thousands of visitors every year and the traditional harvest festival also attracts visitors with regional specialities such as kale or red fruit jelly. For art lovers, a visit to the gallery at the old town hall is recommended - here local artists exhibit their works.

Even if the weather is bad, you don't have to miss out on activities: In nearby Heide, for example, you can visit the Multimar Wattforum or explore the indoor playground "Spielkiste".

Delve is also known for its culinary delights: The regional cuisine offers many delicacies such as the famous Dithmarsch cabbage or fresh fish from the North Sea. The numerous farm cafés in the area, which offer homemade cakes and pies, are particularly recommendable.

And where is it most beautiful in Delve? That's hard to say - every place has its own charm. But a walk along the Eider-Treene-Sorge river or a bike ride through the picturesque Dithmarschen landscape in summer is particularly idyllic.
