Geography

Dautphetal is located in the central part of Hesse and belongs to the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf. The region is characterised by a hilly landscape crossed by rivers such as the Lahn or the Eder. Here you can go on beautiful hikes or explore the surroundings by bike.

    06.07.25 5. Etappe  Wir werden zum Startpunkt in Buchenau gebracht und starten um 09.00 Uhr. An der Burgruine Hohenfels sahen wir zwei Rehe davonhuschen. Von den Gemäuern der Burg kann man die Kellergewölbe erahnen, die Natur hat sich hier schon viel zurückgeholt.  Auch auf dieser Tour sind einige Bäume auf den Weg gestürzt. Die Etappe bietet viel Grün, im Schatten der Wälder und immer wieder schöne Aussichten. Eine hohe Bank entlang des Weges lädt zum Ausruhen ein. Hier kann man die Füße baumeln lassen und in einem Kasten gibt es ein Gipfelbuch und auch Gummibärchen als Stärkung (wie süß).  Dann sehen wir schon unseren höchsten Punkt, den Rimberg. Bevor wir hinaufsteigen, ziehen wir uns noch die Jacken an, gut, denn oben war es schon ganz schön windig. Eine wunderschöne Aussicht hat man vom  Rimbergturm. Dann ging es bergab schnell voran und da wir uns in Caldern noch fit fühlten und die nächste Etappe verkürzen wollten, sind wir bis zum Bahnhof Sterzhausen gelaufen.  Das macht Sinn, weil der Bahnhof Caldern noch etwa 1,5 km ab dem Endpunkt der 5. Etappe liegt. 200 Meter vor dem Bahnhof ist ein Hotel mit Restaurant, welches zur Einkehr einlädt. Vor allem sonntags, wenn die RB94 nur alle zwei Stunden fährt, kann man die Wartezeit hier sinnvoll nutzen. Während der Lahnradweg direkt am Restaurant vorbei führt, folgt der Lahnwanderweg einem Umweg durch den Wald bis dieser auf den Lahnradweg geführt wird. Dann geht es immer geradeaus bis Sterzhausen.

    Fortsetzung nach 2 1⁄2 Monaten am 05.06.25. Wetter mit um die 23 Grad ist perfekt. Wir fahren mit dem Auto zum Bahnhof Buchenau und von dort mit der RB94 zum Startpunkt der 4. Etappe nach Biedenkopf. Alles ist wunderschön grün.  Beim Anstieg zur Landgrafenbuche haben wir noch einen Abstecher zum Hohenstein unternommen. Das dauert ca. eine halbe Stunde extra und lohnt sich nicht wirklich. Teilweise ist das Gras sehr hoch und man sollte sich immer wieder nach Zecken absuchen. Auf dem Weg bergab nach Katzenbach sind einige Bäume umgestürzt, über die man steigen oder drunter durch muss. Das war wohl das Ergebnis des Sturms in der vorherigen Woche.  In Katzenbach haben wir den 4. Stempel bekommen und es gab auch ein Buch zum Verewigen. Dann haben wir im Restaurant Katzenbach eine Kaffeepause eingelegt. Das Restaurant ist nur Freitag ab 17.30 und am Wochenende ab 11.30 geöffnet, aber sehr nett mit Biergarten.  Der Weg ab Katzenbach ist nochmal um einiges schöner als der erste Teil. Unsere schönsten Eindrücke haben wir in den Fotos verewigt. Die RLP App hat sich leider wieder öfters ausgeschaltet, so dass wir keine genaue Aufzeichnung hatten.

    Erst einmal herzlichen Dank für das Einstellen der Tour! Ich bin mit Freude gestartet, natürlich vorbereitet ... aber nach 11km musste ich dann doch aufhören, weil die Pfade gar nicht mehr zu erkennen waren und es richtig durch Dickicht und Unterholz ging - so sehr, dass es nicht mehr spannend war, sondern im Schneckentempo voran ging und man an allem hängen blieb, was möglich war. Dazu kam noch, dass es vom Starkregen der vergangenen Tage recht feucht und rutschig war und trotz guter Schuhe und Stöcke durch das dichte Unterholz teilweise nichts mehr ging. Im Herbst, wenn weniger Blätter sind ggf. besser zu laufen, aber jetzt, bei all dem Grün, machte es leider keinen Spaß mehr.

    Habe die meisten Wege der Tour als Trailrunningstrecke benutzt. Auf der Bolzeburg Nordseite lagen leider einige Bäume über dem Weg, sonst recht gut zu machen. Beeindruckend sind die vielen schönen Aussichten.
