Discover the region

Some of the tourist attractions are the historic old town with its well-preserved half-timbered houses and Dahlen Castle, a magnificent baroque building from the 18th century. Anyone interested in history should also visit the "Alte Lateinschule" museum, which provides insights into Dahlen's past.

Cultural highlights can be found above all during the numerous events throughout the year: whether at the traditional town festival or at the concerts on the market square - everyone gets their money's worth here. Dahlen also has a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights: Why not try regional specialities such as Sauerbraten (sour roast) or Quarkkuchen (curd cake).

Those who like to be active can explore the area around Dahlen by bike or take a hike through the nearby Dahlen Heidepark. In summer, the Lüttgenrode recreational lake is a great place to swim and relax.

But what to do if it rains? No problem! Just visit one of the many cafés and restaurants in town or relax at the Sachsen-Therme adventure pool in Leipzig, only about 30 kilometres away.

But where is it actually most beautiful in Dahlen? Definitely on the market square, where you can best capture the flair of the town. This is also where you will find most of the restaurants and cafés, as well as the weekly market offering fresh regional produce.

All in all, Dahlen is definitely worth a visit - whether as a day trip or for a longer stay. With this travel guide, you are well equipped to discover all the highlights of this charming little town.
