Particularly worth seeing is Blankenburg Castle, an impressive Renaissance fortress from the 12th century with beautiful gardens and a viewing platform of the surrounding Harz Mountains. Another highlight is Regenstein Castle, a medieval fortress perched on a rock.

For those interested in culture, there is the museum in Blankenburg's old town hall, which presents the history of the town and its inhabitants. A visit to the Michaelstein Monastery is also worthwhile - here you will find not only historic buildings but also concerts of classical music.

For those who want to experience something culinary, a stop at the traditional bakery "Konditorei Junge" is a must, or try regional specialities such as game dishes.

The surroundings of Blankenburg are perfect for hiking or cycling through forests and along picturesque rivers such as the Bode or Selke. In winter you can even go skiing in Braunlage or Torfhaus.

But what do you do in Blankenburg when it rains? No problem! The AquaLand leisure pool offers water fun for young and old while the Comédie Soleil theatre guarantees entertainment.

No matter what time of year you travel -Blankenburg (Harz) is always worth a visit! Discover the beauty of the Harz Mountains and let yourself be inspired by the hospitality of the inhabitants. We hope that this travel guide will help you plan your next adventure!

Zahlbar in Münzen.

(Lange Hosen wären also nicht verkehrt.)
