    Schöne Tour durch den Wald. Es gibt einen Aussichtsturm und ein paar andere Stellen mit weitem Blick, überwiegend ist der Blick aber im Nahbereich, wo es schöne Flora zu bewundern gibt. Hier noch ein paar Hinweise/Ergänzungen: - Wegzeichen: Man folgt nur zum Teil dem Ahorn-Weg, daher sollte man eine Karte dabei haben. - Terrain: Es sind breite Schotterwege, die grundsätzlich gut zu laufen sind. Die spitzen Steine sind aber auf Dauer relativ unbequem. Ich empfehle daher Wanderschuhe mit härterer Sohle. - Verlängerung: Falls man noch um 2-3 km verlängern möchte, kann man am östlichen Ende der Route den Wald verlassen und durch den Kurpark laufen. Er ist schön angelegt, es gibt einen Rosengarten und Teiche und vor allem zwei alte und spektakuläre Gradierwerke.

    Schöne Runde auf gut begehbaren und ausgeschilderten Wegen. In Bad Rothenfelde kann man z.B. die beiden Gradierwerke besichtigen oder in ein Cafe oder Restaurant einkehren. Auch die Bismarckhütte (südöstlich des Aussichtsturms), die an der Wegstrecke liegt, lädt zu einer Rast mit Imbiss oder Getränk ein, ist jedoch (Stand Mai 2022) nur Freitag bis Montag geöffnet.

    Sehr schöne Tour, die wir heute allerdings gegen den Uhrzeigersinn gegangen sind. Man geht fast durchgängig durch Wald bzw. am Waldrand und hat viele schöne Aussichten auf den Hauptkamm des Teutos bzw. ins flache Münsterland, besonders auch vom Aussichtsturm auf dem Kleinen Berg. Durch ein eher spärliches Geländer oben auf der Aussichtsplattform ist dieser allerdings nichts für Leute mit Höhenangst... In Bad Laer lohnt ein Abstecher in den Innenort Richtung Kurpark und zur beeindruckenden Pfarrkirche Maria Geburt. Derzeit lässt sich übrigens schon der erste Bärlauch als Frühlings-Vorbote ernten.
