Geographically, the town is situated on the banks of the idyllic Lahn River and surrounded by wooded hills. The town became known as a popular spa resort as early as the 19th century and has lost none of its fascination to this day.

A highlight for tourists are certainly the historic buildings such as the magnificent Kurhaus or Villa Grünwald, which are all in the classicist style. A stroll through the picturesque Kurpark is also a must, where you can see romantic pavilions or take a look at the impressive Kursaal.

Culturally interested visitors will also get their money's worth: You can marvel at contemporary art in the Balmoral Castle Museum or visit the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument - which, by the way, is one of the tallest monuments in Europe!

For culinary connoisseurs, it is highly recommended that you plan a visit to the famous Deinhard sparkling wine cellars, which have been producing fine sparkling wine for over 200 years and are available for tasting.

Those who like to be active will find plenty of opportunities here: Whether hiking along the Lahntal cycle path or canoeing on the river itself - everything is possible! For winter sports fans, there is also the possibility of skiing or snowboarding in the nearby Wintersport-Arena Sauerland.

Even when the weather is bad, there is plenty to do: A visit to the thermal baths Emser Therme offers pure relaxation and the cinema Lahnstein is also a good alternative for a rainy day.

Where is it most beautiful? Clearly on the "Bismarck Tower" observation tower, from which you have a breathtaking view over Bad Ems, the Rhine-Lahn district and even over to Lahneck Castle!

Bad Ems - a destination with a wide range of possibilities. This travel guide can only give you a few tips, but one thing is certain: a trip to Bad Ems is always worthwhile!

Schaft man sogar ohne Beschilderung.

Wanderherz --- was willst Du mehr?
