Maps and trails
The geographical location of Auengrund is particularly charming. Surrounded by green forests, rolling hills and idyllic rivers, the landscape invites you to take long walks. The spring and summer months are particularly beautiful, when everything blossoms and flourishes.

Sights relevant to tourism include Eishausen Castle and the historic old town of Hildburghausen with its magnificent half-timbered houses. The natural monument "Teufelsmühle" (Devil's Mill) is also worth a visit - here you can marvel at impressive rock formations.

Cultural highlights are provided by numerous museums such as the Museum Kloster Veßra or the German Castle Museum on the Veste Heldburg. In addition, there are regular events, such as the traditional town festival in Hildburghausen or various concerts as part of the Thuringian Bach Week Festival.

Culinary Auengrund also has a lot to offer: Be sure to try the regionally famous Thuringian bratwurst or enjoy a hearty snack with homemade farmhouse bread at a cosy stop in one of the rustic inns.

For those who want to be active, there is a wide range of outdoor activities to choose from. Whether hiking, cycling or canoeing - the possibilities are diverse and offer something for every taste. A trip to the nearby Rennsteig in the Thuringian Forest is also particularly nice.

And what to do in bad weather? Auengrund has a solution for that too: visit the H2Oberhof adventure pool, for example, or take a detour to the Arnstadt Castle Museum.

All in all, Auengrund is definitely worth a trip! The region offers both cultural and nature highlights and invites you to a varied stay. A travel guide should therefore definitely be on your packing list!
