Ansbach is a medium-sized city with 19 municipalities and a population of about 40,000. The city's history dates back to the year 748, when it was first mentioned in a document. Today, Ansbach is known for its impressive baroque architecture as well as its cultural events and culinary delights.

Sights relevant to tourism include the Margravial Palace, a magnificent baroque building from the 18th century, and the St. Gumbertus town church with its beautiful gothic architecture. The Kaspar Hauser monument on Karlsplatz also attracts many visitors.

For culture enthusiasts, Ansbach offers numerous highlights such as the Bach Weekend or the International Festival of Young Soloists in the summer month of July.

Ansbach also has a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights - be sure to try the famous Franconian bratwurst or enjoy a glass of beer in a traditional brewery.

The best way to be active outdoors is during the spring and summer seasons, for example, hiking through the Frankenhöhe Nature Park or cycling along the Altmühl Cycle Path. In winter, the nearby ski areas invite you to go skiing and snowboarding.

When it rains, there are also plenty of activities in Ansbach. Visit the Margrave Museum or the Orangery in the palace gardens - both offer interesting insights into the city's history.

Overall, Ansbach is definitely worth a trip. With this travel guide, you have received all the important information about this charming destination - from the sights to culinary highlights and outdoor activities. Don't miss the opportunity to get to know this historic town with all its facets!

There is an error in the map. On the path out of Fremdingen the path comes to a sudden stop and there is a barrier where it ends, with a nearly vertical drop down to the road (25). My first photo shows the view of the barrier and the drop from the other side of the road. The second photo shows my position marker at the barrier. The third photo shows the new correct route, leading to a tunnel under the road.
