Altensteig is located at the foot of the Black Forest and offers a unique mix of nature and cultural experiences. The town has a rich history with many historic buildings such as the town church or the Schlossberg Museum.

    Ein paar Kommentare: Bis auf die Straßenabschnitte schön und recht einsam. Auf dem Straßenabschnitt hinter Wörnersberg kann man schon etwas früher in den Wald abbiegen. Am 26.4.2026 war wegen Waldarbeiten ein Abschnitt gesperrt und die Wege teilweise in üblem Zustand. An der Kohlsägemühle hängt ein Schild, dass man dort nur sonntags parken darf.

    Ich laufe den Weg in der Gegenrichtung, heute von Salzstetten nach Nagold. Einige Wegstrecken sind mir bekannt, aber es gab auch schöne Überraschungen. Zu dieser Jahreszeit sind die Blühwiesen eine Pracht. Auf dem Kapf blühen die Orchideen. Schöne Waldpfade und Wiesenwege gibt es ab und zu auch, so dass man den außergewöhnlich hohen und mit der Zeit sehr unangenehmen Asphaltanteil etwas verschmerzen kann.

    Zuerst geht es bergauf über Hügelfelder aus dem Ort heraus, bereits hier mit schöner Aussicht auf Hügelfelder, etwas Wald und kleinere Ortschaften. Dann kommt hübsches hügeliges Heidegelände - Der Kapf. Ein Abstecher zu einem ehemaligen Bunker kann man sich sparen, der ist im Winter auf jeden Fall, da darin Fledermäuse überwintern, abgesperrt. Danach geht es bergab - Denzweg. Etwa 100 Meter vor der Kreuzung angekommen ist der Steinriegel (steht so in keiner Karte), der heißt so, da die Bauern dort alle Steine aus den Feldern dahin geräumt haben, um die Felder besser nutzen zu können. Das Gelände ist wiederrum schöne Hügelfelder bis zum Horizont. Dann geht es auf schmalem Pfad ein kleines Stück durch den Wald. Im Winter düsterer, dichter Schwarzwald. Danach steht am Wegrand die alte Ölmühle (sieht etwas heruntergekommen aus, da aus unbehandeltem, inzwischen fast schwarzem Holz, ist ein Schulungsort und laut Homepage bis 2010 saniert worden, das ist jetzt halt auch schon wieder 15 Jahre her) mit Laurentiuskapelle (sieht restauriert aus, ist aber auch aus Stein) davor. Nebenan grasen Karakulschafe (altorientalische Rasse). Danach kommt die alte Kläranlage und der Geißäcker (alter Schaftwaschplatz), dann noch das alte Schulhaus und wir sind wieder zurück Viel Wagenbreite Asphaltwege. Unterwegs keine Einkehrmöglichkeit. Beschilderung nicht so ausreichend, dass ich ohne Karte/Navigation einfach so laufen könnte. An manchen Stellen unklar und es gilt auf Hauptweg bleiben. Mit kleineren Pausen und gucken brauchten wir 2,5 Stunden.
