Alken is known for its breathtaking scenery and offers numerous tourist attractions such as Thurant Castle from the 12th century or the historic old town with its half-timbered houses and narrow streets. Another highlight is the "Burgberg" lookout point, from where you can enjoy an incomparable view of the Moselle valley.

Cultural highlights include the annual wine festival in August as well as various concerts and exhibitions on the art and history of the region.

For culinary specialities, we recommend the famous Riesling wine from the local vineyards as well as hearty dishes such as "Mosel-Schnecke" (filled dumplings) or local cheeses.

The best outdoor activities can vary depending on the season: In summer, hiking through the green hills is a good option, while cycling along the river is a popular activity. In winter, the nearby Erbeskopf ski area beckons for winter sports fun.

Even when it rains, there is plenty to do: Thurant Castle Museum offers exciting insights into the history of the region as well as interactive workshops for children and adults.

Whether you are a nature lover, gourmet or culture enthusiast, Alken is definitely worth a visit. Visit us and let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of this region!

Einer der schönsten Traumpfade überhaupt. Tolle, abwechslungsreiche Wege.
