Alflen is located in the district of Cochem-Zell in Rhineland-Palatinate. The region is known for its picturesque landscapes with rolling hills, dense forests and idyllic rivers like the Moselle. Alflen itself is a small village with a rich history, surrounded by vineyards. It offers a tranquil atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities.

The most important sights in Alflen are Lieserhofen Castle from the 16th century and St. Anna's Chapel from the 17th century. Both buildings are impressive testimonies to the architectural history of this area.

Cultural highlights are mainly found at the numerous wine festivals along the Moselle, where you can taste local wines or also take part in the annual music festival "Moselmusik".

For culinary connoisseurs, typical regional specialities are on offer such as: Saumagen (stuffed pig's stomach), Handkäs' mit Musik (pickled cow's milk cheese) or also Riesling wines from the surrounding vineyards.

Outdoor activities are very popular in Alflen and the surrounding area. Especially in spring and summer, you can go on long hikes through the vineyards or take bicycle tours along the Moselle. In winter it is possible to go skiing on the surrounding hills.

If the weather doesn't cooperate, there are still enough activities for a successful stay: visit one of the many museums such as: the local history museum Cochem-Zell or relax with a wellness day in one of the nearby thermal baths.

Where is it most beautiful? The best way to enjoy the beauty of Alflen and its surroundings is during a leisurely boat trip on the Moselle - an unforgettable experience!

All in all, Alflen, Cochem-Zell offers a mixture of history, culture and nature - a destination absolutely "worth a visit"!

Wochenend-Etappen in drei Jahren.

Naturerlebnis pur in allen Belangen.
