Geographically, Alerheim lies on the edge of the Altmühltal Nature Park and is surrounded by an idyllic landscape of rolling hills and rivers. It is a picturesque place full of history and culture, which is worth a visit at any time of the year.

Touristically relevant sights include the 12th century Alerheim Castle, which is enthroned on a mountain and thus offers a breathtaking view of the region, as well as Harburg Castle, which is only a few kilometres away. Cultural highlights include the annual "Alerheim Castle Festival", where there are numerous concerts, theatre performances and exhibitions.

Culinary specialities can be enjoyed in the many restaurants in the area: for example, try typical Franconian food or local beers such as the famous "Schäfflerbräu".

The best outdoor activities can be experienced in summer: Hiking or cycling through the beautiful countryside around Alerheim are ideal - canoeing on the nearby Wörnitz is also possible! In winter, on the other hand, leisurely walks through the snow-covered forest invite you to relax.

If it rains, there are also plenty of options for entertainment: why not visit one of the many museums in the area, such as the Ries Crater Museum or the Archaeological Museum at Harburg Castle.

And where is it most beautiful? That's hard to say - every place has its own charm. But a stroll through the narrow streets of Alerheim and a visit to the castle are definitely recommended!

Overall, Alerheim, Donau-Ries is a destination with a lot to offer: History, culture and nature harmonise perfectly here. So a visit is always worthwhile!
