Geographically, the town lies at the foot of the Swabian Alb and thus offers a breathtaking landscape with numerous hiking and cycling trails. The surrounding area is also known for its many mineral springs, which have been used since Roman times.

Most relevant for tourism are the Limes Museum and the Roman Park - both provide insight into the history of the Roman Empire. A visit to the archaeological park "Villa Rustica" is also worthwhile to learn more about life in Roman times.

Cultural highlights are also plentiful: The theatre of the city of Aalen offers a varied programme of drama, music and dance events. For art lovers, a visit to the art museum or the Wasseralfingen municipal museum is recommended.

Annual events such as the town festival or the Christmas market attract tourists from all over the world. Culinary specialities such as Maultaschen (a type of Swabian dish) or Spätzle should definitely be tried.

For outdoor activities, the summer time is particularly suitable for hiking on the mountains or cycling through the meadow landscapes. In winter, you can enjoy skiing on the nearby slopes.

If it rains, there are always options: Drinking a cosy cup of coffee in a café, visiting the cinema or playing a round of bowling.

The best thing to do in Aalen is to enjoy nature. The Härtsfeldsee lake, for example, offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and invites you to take a swim.

Overall, Aalen is definitely worth a trip - be it for cultural highlights, outdoor activities or culinary delights. A travel guide through this city is definitely worthwhile!

Überwiegend befestigte Wege und schattig. Gut beschildert.
