    Bin gestern den westlichen Teil gefahren (von Überherrn nach Schengen) - definitiv eine Traumstrecke, gerne auch 6 Sterne: winzige Nebenstrecken, durch Täler und Wäldchen, durch malerische Dörfer, praktisch null Verkehr. Direkt oder zumindest nah an der Strecke jede Menge touristische Highlights: keltische Kultstätten, Burgen, römische Villen, Festungen… hier kann man gerne auch mehrmals fahren.     Startpunkt mitten in Mondorf auf dem großen Parkplatz, direkt gegenüber, auf der anderen Straßenseite soll’s losgehen, aber leider erst mal komplette Sperrung des Wanderweges wegen Hausbau. Also erst mal neuen Startpunkt suchen, dann geht es aber flott längs der Gander los. Der Park natürlich schön, leider finden sich (ebenso natürlich) viele Menschen da. Weiter vorbei am Casino geht es schon stramm bergauf zu der Autobahn hin. Der Lärm ist gut hörbar, allerdings geht es relativ ruhig hinter der Böschung weiter, diese schützt schon vor dem Lärm. Flottes Feuchtbiotop wird passiert, weiter unter einer Autobahnbrücke geht es in Richtung Altwies, wobei die (jetzt Grünen?) Kühltürme mit Ihren mächtigen Wasserdampfwolken sich zeigen. Altwies, ein flotter Dorfkern, ebenso imposant thront die Kirche auf dem Ausläufer eines Felsen. Vorbei an dem „Hotel de Paris“, wo ja Victor Hugo einem Monat Gast war. Erwähnen wir jetzt aber auch den Dichter „Dicks“, welcher ja ebenfalls in Mondorf gastierte. Ab da eine sehr schöne Wanderetappe, kommt doch später das Castel , welches sich seit 1769 in Frankreich befindet. Ehrfurcht, ja fast ein erschaudern überkommt einen wenn man bedenkt, diese Felsspitzte ist eine äußerst geschichtsträchtige Stelle, blickt man dort bis zu bis zu 2500 Jahre in die Vergangenheit! Weiter bergab vorbei an den Stationen des Leidensweges Jesu Christi, geht es auf einem Pfad längs der Gander, teilweise hinter einer alten Sandsteinmauer, wieder zurück zum Parkplatz. Der Weg ist sehr gut gekennzeichnet, besitzt etliche Rastbänke (nicht nur im Park), ist sehr abwechslungsreich (eben auch durch die zwei interessanten Ortschaften), und die Länge ist Tip-Top. Natürlich geht es viel über Wege und Straßen, aber auch einige Pfade werden erwandert. Meines Erachtens nach absolut eine Wanderung wert ! Kleine Kritik, einige Tafeln sind absolut nicht mehr lesbar, z.b. eine bei der Unterquerung der Autobahnbrücke.
