The bucolic route dotted with ponds, meadows, and small villages follows the Eure valley in the countryside around Chartres.

Very close to Chartres, the Fontenay-sur-Eure site features a series of water bodies from former gravel pits that attract many water birds. 

Between dozens of ponds and the Eure valley, the circuit passes the Jean Moulin memorial in La Taye.
