Parra – a dream destination for hikers
The versatile Parra and its wonderful nature offer interesting places to visit as well as great hiking and cross-country skiing trails. Explore the Ancient Mountains route network by bike or on foot, play frisbee golf on the area’s 18-hole course, admire the view from the viewpoint on top of the Parravuori hill, and observe birds in their nesting area on the nearby lake. Refreshments and snacks can be enjoyed at the restaurants of Parra or at a lean-to shelter by the cosy fire.
There are several natural attractions in the area. To name a few, a blockfield from the Ice Age, a 400-year-old pine tree found near lean-to of Parra, and the top of the Parravuori hill are perhaps the most famous ones. And the view from the hill is magnificent! On a beautiful summer day, you can cool off at the ponds of Parra which bathe in the sun almost all day.
On the shore of the ponds, you will find several interesting places to visit and diverse services. Parran luontolaituri offers unforgettable experiences in the heart of Finnish nature: restaurants, equipment rental (frisbee golf, fatbikes, SUP boards, nordic walking poles), sauna facilities and a barbecue shelter.
There is also a beautiful forest church, where you can relax and enjoy the nature. The church can be booked for events. Another curiosity is the world’s largest javelin with a length of more than 24 meters, erected to celebrate the achievements and the 60th birthday of Pauli Nevala, an Olympic-winning javelin thrower from Teuva.
Pappilankangas outdoor area for the whole family
Welcome to Pappilankangas! Located in the village of Komsinkylä in Teuva, this outdoor area provides possibilities for a wide range of outdoor activities throughout the year. How about a day of frisbee golf, archery, cross-country skiing or hiking in the pine forest?
Start your day at the ski chalet, where you will find swings, a sandbox, a tipi-like hut, a jogging track, fitness stairs and a small outdoor gym. The well-kept outdoor trails of Pappilankangas, as well as the cross-country skiing trails, also start from here. Those looking for an easy and relaxing day in the nature can head to the ski lodge's barbecue shelter and gazebo, or to the lean-to shelter of Karvahuuli about a mile away. The area also hosts a number of events, such as running races.

Discover the cultural gems of Teuva
Teuva has many interesting cultural sites to visit, such as the local history museum, quaint churches, and the Culture House Orrela. The tourist information point, TEUVA-info, is also located in Orrela.
The Culture House Orrela provides a fascinating setting for diverse cultural events, meetings, and parties. In the museum rooms upstairs, you will find various collections that depict Teuva's history and its people, such as a money stash from the 18th century, as well as furniture and educational materials from the old school. Don’t forget to stop by the church of Teuva, where you will find an altarpiece painted by Tove Jansson, the creator of Moomins.
Those who are interested in cycling and its history should head to the Pyörätalli museum in the centre of Teuva. This versatile museum originated from the collection of German-born Reiner Boje with more than 400 cycling-related objects.
Near the centre of Teuva you can also find several buildings that form an integral part of the town centre’s culturally important landscape, such as the restored birthplace of the locally famous priest Simo Korpela, the house of dyeing entrepreneur Otto Syreeni, and the former office building of Syreeni's dyeing factory. With his innovative dyeing practices, Syreeni won a price at the Exposition Universelle in Paris.
Teuva's delightful and versatile winter
Teuva is full of activities during the winter season! The slopes of Snowpark Parra offer a wide range of opportunities for winter sports, from downhill skiing to sledding. The slopes, ramps, rails, and the free-of-charge training slope serve skiers of all levels. In the area you will also find a skiing school, equipment rental, and Parra Bistro. The skiing season starts in December-January and continues until the beginning of April.
Teuva also provides several stunning trails for cross-country skiing. Follow the trails of Ancient Mountains route and witness the geological and natural attractions shaped by the Ice Age, such as blockfields, ravines, and rock walls – even the largest cave in Finland! You can also go cross-country skiing on the illuminated tracks of Parra and Pappilankangas.
