    Diese Wanderung ist sehr abwechslungsreich und überwiegend sehr gut ausgeschildert. Leider fehlt an der Kreuzung zwischen dem Bornhausstollen und dem Weiler Kalkofen der Wegweiser für den Abzweig nach scharf links sowie die Beschilderung bis zur Rehefelder Grenzbrücke. Ansonsten ist die Tour wirklich sehr zu empfehlen!

    Es war eine Wanderung in einer Gegend die wir eher im Winter aufsuchen. Außerhalb der Wintersaison hat es aber auch seinen Reiz. Mit Gaststätten sieht es auf der deutschen Seite eindeutig besser aus. Wer aber gerne Picknick macht beim Wandern findet überall ein Plätzchen. Die Wege sind teilweise asphaltiert und es ist auch mit Kinderwagen machbar.

    Eine ungewöhnliche aber durchaus interessante Landschaft. Es gibt zahlreiche Pflanzen zu entdecken, die in einem Moor wachsen. Rechts und links des Holzstegs beherbergen feuchte Wiesen eine ganz besondere Flora. Man könnte fast meinen, man sei irgendwo zwischen Taiga und Tundra gelandet. Leider war der Weg ab dem großen Lugstein nicht ganz so einfach zu finden. Aber zurückgefunden haben wir trotzdem. Empfehlenswert ist eine Einkehr in der Lugsteinbaude. Uns hat das Essen sehr geschmeckt und das Personal war äußerst freundlich. Hinweis: Beim Besuch des Hochmoores muss ein kleines Eintrittsgeld entrichtet werden (um die 1 - 2 Euro). Es lohnt sich aber und kommt mit Sicherheit dem Naturschutz zugute.
