The Wine Roads of Southern Styria
Among the most popular destinations in southern Styria are the wine roads. Along the South Styrian Wine Road, the Sausal Wine Road and the Schilcher Wine Road, South Styria presents itself from its most beautiful side. In the hilly landscape, wine and other fruits thrive in the region's mild climate, forming an impressive cultural landscape. Buschenschanken and inns serve local products ranging from wine to Backhenderl (Baked Chicken) and Kernöl (Seed Oil). If you want to explore this magnificent landscape in an active way, you can jump on your bike. The steep climbs, however, require good personal fitness or a full battery for your e-bike. Starting from the wine taverns and wineries, there are of course also leisurely hiking trails through this unique cultural landscape in the south of Austria.
