The 66 km Trail.Route of the Jura.Ultra.Trail in the "mountains" of the Franconian Switzerland * training and competition route for ultrarunners in a beautiful mid-mountain landscape.
From the Wiesent valley it goes up to 200 meters elevation in one stretch to rocks and viewpoints in the "mountains around Muggendorf" – known as an alpine mid-mountain for climbers for a long time but also a perfect playground for lovers of entertaining trails and challenging routes. Trail runners find ideal training opportunities here for tough Alpine runs.
* Especially for ultra-hikers, mega-hikers & co, this same 66 km route exists but with additional (optional:) detours to about 18 highlights directly on or near the route – see the tour with description and details >> https://www.outdooractive.com/de/route/wanderung/fraenkische-schweiz/jut-terminator-66-highlights-/65215027/ *
FS*TRailissimo Ultra covers the entire trail region between Ebermannstadt and Gößweinstein with the Wiesenttal and the Wiesenttal-Trail at its center. With short connecting sections, this ultra can be split into various "normal" loops: from mini-trail with 6 km to route lengths from 16 to 42 km.
Trailissimo is also a seal of quality for trail*quality: of course, there can be no 100% trail-only loops here, but narrow trails, natural paths, root and rock routes are supposed to have a significantly proportional predominance. Roads and sections with hard surfaces are minimized by the route design. Unfortunately, beautiful trails still existing today occasionally fall victim to asphalting, straightening, and concreting mania, requiring possible adjustments in the Trailissimo concept where possible.
But especially the inner Franconian Switzerland – our trail region – is, due to the steepness and unsuitability along the Wiesent river, a natural paradise with many beautiful trails – hopefully for a long time! With positive feedback from trail hikers and trail runners, this voice pro nature will hopefully gain more and more attention and contribute to the preservation of some trail sections – in our trail*region Franconian Switzerland.

Extreme trail marathon in the steepest part of the "Gebürgs" - on a large circuit between Gößweinstein and Streitberg, almost every incline and hill is included, so that in total not only exactly 42 kilometers, but also easily 1500 meters of elevation gain (at least;) are accounted for!
But this does not take place just anywhere, rather in Germany's romantic region par excellence - in the heart of the Franconian Switzerland between the well-known pilgrimage site Gößweinstein with its old castle and the Neideck castle ruin, the landmark of the area > breathtaking views in between let you repeatedly forget the effort of this mountain marathon!

In the village of Behringersmühle, located at the geographic center of the Franconian Switzerland, the Two-Valleys Half Marathon begins (with a 10% additional distance). The Wiesent and its tributary, the Ailsbach, border the route on three sides. The start is - when you proceed clockwise - at or above the Wiesent upstream to the romantic Rabeneck. Then up to the castle and in a wide arc along the heights to its namesake, Rabenstein Castle. Between Sophienhöhle and Ludwigshöhle, the Ailsbach flows, and the route now follows the Ailsbach on root-covered paths from one rock to the next until reaching the starting point.
