Trail runs in Eisenach

The anniversary marathon, which runs along the Höllwand to the Wartburg and back, commemorates the 500th birthday of the German language by Martin Luther at the Wartburg.

The fifth stage of the Rennsteig stage run starts at the Grenzwiese at the foot of the summit of the Großer Inselsberg and ends after 34.3 km and 913 meters of elevation gain at the hiking inn "Gate to the Rennsteig" in Hörschel.

The route of the Rennsteig stage run from the Werra to the Saale follows the Rennsteig. The total distance of 168.3 km is divided into five sections.

Great run through the most beautiful gorges near Eisenach and to some of the best viewpoints. Only recommended very early, outside the season, and definitely not on weekends, as the Drachenschlucht is very busy otherwise.
