Trail runs in Bagno di Romagna

Starting from the well-established Piazza S. Michele, you follow the ancient communal road that ends in front of the remains of the old water mill of S. Alessio. From here, after crossing the ditch that separates the road from the rest of the route, the Ascent begins, which will take us to the top of Monte Comero. Along the ascent, we will encounter the localities of Chiappasonno, Fardini, and Madioce, then continue to reach the Casale where a young D'Annunzio used to spend his summers. Once at the top, we proceed towards the Biancarda pass (the name says it all...) and from here we descend towards the sources of the Savio River. There’s barely time to catch our breath before ascending Monte Castelvecchio and then taking up the ancient medieval road that leads us to the Marne of Verghereto and in front of the Madonnina of the Crestone of Montecoronaro. It is in front of this historic little Madonna that the true descent begins down to the town of Montecoronaro. Once in Montecoronaro, we then proceed towards Ville, "The town of the Cocomerina Pear," to climb its hill and start the final sprint that will bring us back to Montione and end with the climb of the Cappellina (or viaccia...), the true trademark of the Verghereto Trail.
