The (snowshoe) hike around the Bärenstein near Cranzahl leads through snowy winter forests, silent valleys, and to impressive views over the Ore Mountains. The starting point is the Cranzahl Dam, from where the path initially leads through quiet forest sections and past the dam. It is silent in the forest. Ascent options lead to the plateau of the Bärenstein, where information boards, the summit cross, and the Weipert Bench invite rests and panoramic views. From the summit, varied circular routes via forest paths and forest roads, partly also cross-country in the snow, lead back to the valley. A visit to the summit cross is a must. The tour combines nature enjoyment, quiet winter landscapes, views, and opportunities to stop at the Bärenstein guesthouse for a warm break, creating a very varied winter hiking experience. Of course, the round tour can also be done in summer!
