The Kaarreniemi multi-use trail is well suited for families, nature lovers, and day hikers. The multi-use trail runs on almost flat terrain, initially passing through the bright landscapes of Katinkulla golf courses and turning towards Kaarreniemi, crossing varying forest and field landscapes all the way to the shore of Nuasjärvi, from where there are magnificent views of Nuasjärvi and the hills of Vuokatti. The route offers varied scenery and tranquility in easy terrain. There is a more demanding section right at the beginning of the route, but after that, the trail continues on almost flat terrain. Good maintenance of the route allows versatile use on foot, by bike, or on skis. The route is not lit, so it is recommended to travel during daylight hours. Walking with a dog on the route is allowed, provided the dog is kept on a leash.

The multi-use trail is maintained with a snowmobile and a rear blade, so the trail width is about two meters. A description of the route's accessibility can be found on the accessibility tab.

    Safety information

The route intersects several times with the Katinkulla sun ski track, so please be aware of other users especially at intersections.

    Roadbook

The Katinkulla multi-use trail is marked on the terrain with Fatbike trail signs and grooming markers. Be careful at intersections so you don't get lost on ski tracks or other snowmobile trails.

The multi-use trail starts at the end of the parking lot along Pisterinniementie. It begins with a steep ascent and descent along the edge of a pine forest onto a straight section of the route. At the end of the straight is the intersection of the Katinkulla sun ski track 5 and 10 km loops. The multi-use trail continues along the 10 km track until it turns into the forest towards the Kaarreniemi lean-to shelter.

From here begins a 1.2 km one-way out-and-back side route to the lean-to. The winter path runs through forests and meadows to Kaarreniemi, where there is a lean-to with beautiful views towards Nuasjärvi. Return back the same way.

Alue on valaistu.

Reitti on selkeästi havaittavissa koko matkalta.

Noin 40 metrin pituisen laskun enimmäispituuskaltevuus on 14 prosenttia.  Reitti ylittää aurinkoladuksi kutsutun hiihtouran kahdesti puolen kilometrin ja yhden kilometrin kohdalla, jolloin on syytä huomioida myös muut liikkujat. Aivan reitin loppuosassa, juuri ennen taukopaikkaa, on haastavampi metsäosuus, jossa reitti kiertää tiheän puuston lomassa.

    partially accessible

Reasonably usable, but not completely accessible.

    Equipment

Layered clothing is recommended on winter trips.

Vuokatti Ski service, equipment rental, including fatbikes, skiservice (at) vuokattisport.fi

When moving in the cold, the cold usually creeps first into the fingers and toes. So it is worth equipping yourself with thicker mittens and proper winter shoes. And if you fall from the bike into deep snow, gaiters and snow locks on pants and jacket are a nice addition.

And a helmet is also an important piece of equipment for winter cycling!
