The western section of the trail from Titisee via Feldberg to Notschrei leads almost directly past the small Mathisleweiher pond. Situated at an altitude of just under 1000 meters, it is a popular swimming destination in summer. In winter, however, the surface of the moorland lake quickly freezes over. The short circular hike there begins and ends in the well-known winter sports resort of Hinterzarten. With a little extra effort, the Scheibenfelsen, a first-class viewpoint, can be integrated into the walk.
