The Frillensee is the cradle of Inzell speed skating. Even though the fast skate sport has long since moved to the Max Aicher Arena, the Frillensee remains a very special place. Framed by the northern slopes of the Gamsknogel, it lies in the middle of a nature reserve. Winter usually starts a little earlier here and lasts a bit longer. Whether sunshine, playing clouds, or snow flurry, the Frillensee is always worth a hike.
Author’s recommendation
When hiking, everyone has their own pace and preferences, so the hiking routes in Inzell can be individually combined or shortened. Maps are also available at the tourist information center. And if you really run out of breath on the way, there is always the village bus.

Safety information
Winter hiking boots must be well insulated and have a non-slip sole above all. They should also give the foot good support and at the same time allow movement freedom in the right places. The shoe store "Gams" in Inzell specializes in sports and mountain sports and provides competent and expert advice.Tips and suggestions
We take responsibility for nature. If animals and plants could speak, they would say thank you. Thanks to all hikers who always stay on marked paths and avoid shortcuts. It goes without saying that litter is not left behind and protected areas are respected.Roadbook
At the Adlgaß hiking parking lot, we start the route heading north along the Großwaldbach. Then it goes steeply uphill through the forest in a long right curve until we reach the highest point of the tour at 945 meters. At the fork, we turn right and pass by the Gassl-Alm to the Frillensee.
Continuing along the winter hiking trail, we circle the clear, greenish shimmering lake and start the descent to the Forsthaus Adlgaß. We have well earned the refreshment at the final stop in the Jagdhaus after the almost four and a half kilometers long tour.
