Upstream on the Lapuanjoki – Out-and-Back Paddle, Lapua
Shortly after setting off, the surroundings change from the edge of the town to a greener riverside landscape. Woodland, waterside vegetation and ever-changing seasonal views make this an enjoyable route throughout the paddling season. Its short distance makes it particularly suitable for first-time paddlers, families with children and anyone looking to try paddling without undertaking a longer journey.
Paddling upstream requires a little more effort as the current slows progress, but under normal water levels the route remains easy to navigate. After approximately 1.1 km, a natural turning point is reached before returning along the same route.
The river corridor provides opportunities to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, observe birdlife and take in the changing character of the riverside environment.
