Scenic route through the winding secondary canals between Rivalta and Grazie. Highly recommended for the more adventurous, it is much more rewarding than the simple route on the main canal. Only this way can you fully appreciate the intricate network of Mincio canals!
Recommended route in spring or early summer: the thick vegetation might block parts of the path.

The route, suggested by the ProLoco "Amici di Rivalta" (https://www.rivaltasulmincio.com/) and its canoe group, veers off the more direct path to explore the labyrinth of Mincio canals and small lakes.
The experience is definitely more interesting than simple navigation on the main canal, but it strictly requires a guide or an accurate GPS track with satellite map (topographic maps are not sufficient in this case). The entrance to some of the smaller canals is not at all obvious.
Note that the canals (sometimes just a little over one meter wide) may have thick vegetation on the sides in some areas. Consequently, especially in the first section after diverging from the main canal, it is common to find some spider webs around you!
The required time is about 1h30m - 2h, depending on how quickly you move.
Pay attention to the last section approaching Grazie (see waypoint on the track): you might be tempted to take the wide stretch on the right. In reality, this stretch has a very shallow bottom where you will almost certainly get stuck.
The return route, if done on the main canal, takes no more than an hour.
