A special kind of tightrope act is the via ferrata at the Mürrenflüh. High above the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the route runs along a rock face – from the holiday resort of Mürren over to the neighboring Gimmelwald. Two key sections provide adrenaline boosts: at the beginning of the via ferrata, the walk over the iron rungs along the vertical wall with 600 meters of air beneath your feet, and at the end of the via ferrata, the approximately 80-meter-long Nepal suspension bridge that spans a seemingly bottomless gorge. Variety is provided by triple cable bridges and some ladders. The zip line over the Mürrenbach can only be used with a mountain guide. The starting point is at the Sportchalet in Mürren (1645 m); from here always along the cableway wire to Gimmelwald (1370 m).
