A varied via ferrata in a quiet, dreamlike location of medium difficulty.
The region around Lecco on Lake Como is a true via ferrata paradise and even offers considerably more variety than the supposed via ferrata Eldorado on Lake Garda. One of the lesser known, but perhaps even most beautiful via ferratas on Lake Como is the iron route up Monte Due Mani. The classically designed via ferrata is a true dream for ferratists, especially because of its few artificial steps and the beautiful, grippy rock. Only the safety chains are a bit tricky, as the via ferrata carabiners tend to get caught on the chain links. After a short ascent, the fantastic route leads over several rock pillars and walls up to a narrow ridge, which leads up to the summit of Monte Due Mani. The path is divided into several rope passages and is repeatedly interrupted by short hiking passages.
