The via ferrata region on Lake Como is not as well known as the one on Lake Garda, but it doesn't have to hide. Less crowded but no less beautiful are the large number of iron roads, Via Attrezzata's and Via Ferrata's around Lake Como. There are impressive rocky mountains here, where alpinists have always let off steam. With difficulty D, this climb is one of the more difficult, in terms of climbing fun it is one of the big ones. The via ferrata pulls up the distinctive pillar of the southeast face of the Cima Medale with lots of handles and kicks, solid rock and great protection, mostly in the French way with wire rope to secure and a grippy chain to hold. Always demanding but never extremely difficult, and hard to beat in terms of views, a dream.
