From the Steinsee Hut, follow path 601 towards Würtemberger Haus. After about 20 minutes of walking, a path branches off to the right at a signpost ("climbing area"), which you follow, passing the erratic boulders (large rocks) and continuing on the newly built route up to below the Steinkarturm. From the boulders, the red entry marking can already be seen well above to the left.
From the entry at the blocks (clearly visible red dots), go up briefly (A) and then traverse to the left (A) until you reach a step with foot pegs. Cross over them (A/B) and follow a weak ridge (A) to a chimney-like steep crack (B). After that, you reach the wonderful slab ramp (B/C). At the end of it, a left traverse (A) leads to the final ridge, which you follow (A/B) up to the summit ridge.
Now you either descend to the right or ascend with some easy climbing to the peak of the Steinkarspitze in a few minutes, leaning left.
Descent:
From the exit, descend to the right over partly secured scree terrain (max. A/B) into the southern Parzinnscharte at 2,540m between Steinkarturm and southwestern Parzinnturm. From the notch, follow the secured descent through the scree gully (max. B) back to the via ferrata entry and continue on the ascent route back to the hut.
