Short but demanding via ferrata with overhanging sections and a stunning summit view for strong ferratists on the northwest side of Lugano's local mountain.
The San Salvatore Via Ferrata is a short but extremely athletic and strenuous via ferrata route on the northwest face of the Monte San Salvatore, the "Sugarloaf" of Lugano. It involves overcoming partly extremely steep and occasionally overhanging sections using only a few footholds and iron rungs on the steel cable. Over a length of more than 250 meters, it has an elevation difference of 150 meters, does not run straight, offers great variety, and above all, an absolutely unique panorama that you can enjoy after the ascent to the summit and the mountain station of the funicular.
