Via ferratas in BerchtesgadenRoadbook
The difficulty level of the Laxersteig is almost consistently C and offers demanding and partly exposed climbing passages. At the transition to the Schützensteig, marked with difficulty level A/B, you can either exit from the Laxersteig or continue on the Schützensteig all the way to the top. The through-climb time of the Laxersteig is about 1 hour; the total walking time combining both the Laxersteig and the Schützensteig is about 2 to 2.5 hours.
Notable points have been given resonant names: Right after the “Entry Wall” and the first pillar, it goes straight up. The “Larch Traverse” offers a beautiful view of the mountain world alongside rest. The “Sacred Corner” and “Steep Up” are partly exposed and provide excellent photo opportunities. After the “Grand Finale,” you are already in the extension of the Schützensteig. The altitude difference of about 100 m is not the greatest, but the traverses should not be underestimated.
