Kaiserjägersteig (Col Ombert, 2670 m)
Ascent of medium length fully secured with steel cable. The via ferrata is not particularly busy. Both the approach and descent as well as the route itself are located in a very scenic setting.
Approach: Along the road to Baita alle Cascate and further along the gravel road until it ends at the valley station of the material cable car to Rifugio Passo di San Nicolò. From there the path leads partly very steep to the hut. Past this and up to the clearly visible entry. The approach to the via ferrata is signposted. Characteristics and technical details: In the first part of the via ferrata, difficult, partly slightly overhanging passages must be overcome. Arm strength and good foot technique required. The rock quality leaves much to be desired (brittle). It is advisable to avoid ascending if several climbers are on the via ferrata at the same time at larger distances. Descent: On a well-trodden path heading southeast to the first notch and then down to the left. At the first left turn, a weakly developed path branches off to the right, leading under the rock walls of the southeast flank.
